Principal Joe Cottrell
Hello Spring Creek Elementary community!
I am Mr. Cottrell, and I am honored to serve as your principal. As a 4th-generation educator, a dedication to education runs deep in my family. My core passion is working collaboratively alongside our incredible students, dedicated teachers, and supportive families to build a safe, engaging, and thriving school environment.
Prior to stepping into the principal position at Spring Creek Elementary, I worked as a practicing school psychologist in the Cache County School District and served as a district behavior coordinator. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in student well-being, positive behavioral supports, and holistic student development.
On a personal note, my wife Ashley and I have three wonderful children (Max, Hazel, and Claire), and we proudly call Cache Valley our home. Outside of school, I love spending quality time with my family and immersing myself in all things sports!

Maria Jones
School Support Leader
My experiences as a school secretary, paraeducator, classroom aide, and translator have taught me that every member of a school community plays a vital role in creating a positive learning environment and helping a school run smoothly. For the past eight years, I had the privilege of teaching 6th grade in the Spanish Dual Language Immersion program, where I loved helping students make meaningful connections between their learning and the real world. Science was my favorite subject to teach, and my motto, “Science in Action,” encouraged students to think deeply, ask questions, and apply their learning in meaningful ways.
I am passionate about education and believe that strong relationships, collaboration, and a genuine love for learning can make a lasting difference in a child’s life. I also believe in using data to guide our actions and decisions, helping us identify student needs, celebrate growth, and provide the right support for every learner. As Brené Brown reminds us, “Connection is why we’re here; it is what gives purpose and meaning to our lives.” I believe that when we build strong connections with students, families, and one another, we create a community where everyone can thrive.
I am excited to join the Spring Creek Elementary community as the School Support Leader. As I begin this new role, my motto will be “Data in Action”—using evidence to inform our decisions, guide our next steps, and ensure that our actions have a meaningful impact on student success. I look forward to working alongside our students, staff, and families to build a positive, supportive community where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, serving in my community, and making memories with the people I love.

Michelle Weed
Administrative Assistant
My name is Michelle Weed, and I am so excited to be the Administrative Assistant at Spring Creek Elementary this year. I live on a small hobby farm with my husband and our four kids. We have cows, sheep, chickens, bees, and a dog!
I love to read, bake, craft, watch my kids play their sports and adventure with my family. I have an unhealthy relationship with Diet Dr. Pepper and my favorite food hands down is a good chocolate chip cookie.

Paige Holley
Counselor
Hello from your school counselor, Paige Holley!
I have taught 4th grade for the last 10 years, 4 of those years being in the DLI program. This will be my first year as a school counselor and I couldn't be more excited!
I am married and we have 3 children. I love taking my dog, Bruno, for walks and listening to audiobooks. I also love doing yoga, going out to eat, and being in the mountains. I can't wait to meet you all!
