Goal #1
Increase the percentage of students proficient in RISE testing in ELA
Academic Area:

Measurements:
2023-2024 end of level assessments for Spring Creek showed 55% of our students proficient in language arts. This was a 2% decrease in proficiency percentages from 2022-2023. The statewide 2023-2024 average stayed the same from 2022-2023, showing that the decrease in scores was specific to our school.
Action Steps:
- Teaching, Learning, Committee (TLC) ($8,270 – Est. Salary) – This team will be responsible for selecting, communicating, and maintaining our best practices in teaching at Spring Creek. They will also help guide our schoolwide efforts to:
- Integrate authentic literacy opportunities into every curricular area
- Improve teacher instruction
- Improve student learning and growth
- Professional Development ($12,402 Employee Training) ($4,968 – Travel) ($3,960 - Substitute teachers) (Total $21,330) – Possible Professional Development for 2024-25 could include: PBIS (Behavior), PLC Collaboration, Standards Based Grading, Disciplinary Literacy, and Intervention and Response to Intervention.

Attain a student MGP (median growth percentile) above 55% in ELA, math, and science, and increase the MGP of the lowest performing 25% of students from 71% to 73%.

Measurements:
Growth Measurements from School Accountability Data will be used. Data from 2023-24 shows MGP (Median Growth Percentile) growth in language arts at 55%, math at 70%, and science at 58%. MGP above 50% is generally considered above average. Growth measurement data also showed that the growth of our lowest 25% was 71% which was a decrease of nearly 4% from 2022-2023.
Action Steps:

Interventionist ($42,500 – Est. Salary) - Under the direction of the SAT (Student Assistance Team), this person finds time during the school day to provide Tier II and Tier III intervention and remediation for students. A half-time teacher is hired to oversee the systems and make sure students are receiving the assistance they need.

Co-Taught Intervention classes ($28,400 – Est. Salary) - Pay for four periods a day (math 7 & 8, ELA 7 & 8) for three trimesters for a teacher to provide students additional Tier II and Tier III instruction in math and Language Arts. This class provides additional student intervention for selected students who need it. Students are placed in this intervention because they are not demonstrating proficiency with the essential curriculum

Increase the percentage of “English Learners” making adequate progress from 32% to 37%, and the percentage of “English Learners” reaching proficiency from 14% to 19%.

Measurements:
During the 2023-24 school year the number of “English Learner” students making adequate progress was 32%. The gap between 2023-2024 state proficiency scores and our school showed we were 5% below the state average. The number of “English Learner” students reaching proficiency was 14%. The gap between 2023-2024 state proficiency scores and our school showed we were 2% above the state average.
Action Steps:

Parent Liaison ($24,000 – Para-pro Salary) – This person acts as an interpreter, guide, and liaison between families of at-risk students and the school.

ESL Aide ($15,900 – Para-pro Salary) – This aide will help in the instruction in ESL classes, tutoring students with their classwork, and help with the gathering of student data, and tracking of students on ESL monitor status.
